"On behalf of the Washington D.C. Police Foundation, I want to personally thank Code 3 for supporting all of the great work that has been done this past year to assist and recognize the efforts of the hardworking men and women of the Metropolitan Police Department. The youth programs and community initiatives the Foundation maintains and Code 3 supports have been instrumental in building bridges that foster positive relationships with our communities. At a time when many cities are struggling with police-community relations, our efforts have successfully established both respect and trust in our officers. Code 3 was instrumental in sponsoring our annual awards ceremony, which recognizes the heroes of the MPD. In September, we also hosted MPD's annual 'Family Fun Day.' This event, which provided food, entertainment and athletic competitions for over 3,000 individuals was a success with the assistance of Code 3's efforts. We are elated to have Joe Abdalla on board and look forward to doing many wonderful events in the future."

"We enjoyed the police women, they were friendly, funny, and personable." "The police women spoke to us about real life scenarios that we could related to and gave advice on topics that we are actually dealing now." "The session was very inspirational and we enjoyed the segment with Ms. Copeland and the use of the picture of the lion to show us the importance of self reflection." "We can't thank Mr. Copeland enough for providing us with the bag of supplies and the words of wisdom." *Special thanks to Middle School Assistant Dean, NiLa Austin for the quotes and the continued support of our program.
"The biggest concern parents in our school have for their children is for safety in the community. Code 3 works as a partner with our school by providing safe activities for children and has become an avenue for children to build relationships and trust with our local law enforcement. As, a school principal, I am proud of the trust that Code 3 has developed between children and police officers. With this trust, our children have faith in whom they can turn to safely for support."
"We sincerely appreciate the training and donations Code 3 has provided to us. Over the last several months, Code 3 has donated 100 Narcan kits to our agency. In addition, they generously donated money to our HOPE trailer which will help educate parents about recognizing signs of a drug addiction. With opioid addiction being a national epidemic, it is critical our officers are trained on how to use Narcan and then be equipped with it at all times. Equally, it's important we have Narcan readily available in case an officer or other first responder becomes exposed to more dangerous substances such as fentanyl or carfentanil. Policing today means we need to be proactive in terms of opioid education and reactive to the increasing number of overdoses. Code 3 has afforded us that opportunity."
"The Code 3 grant enabled the Arlington County Police Department to create and offer a free three week camp for at risk youth. During this camp, the youth were presented with a number of guest speakers that provided them with the knowledge and skills to manage issues that may arise in a productive manner. The youth were introduced to what it takes to be a leader and provided with some skills to enhance their abilities to grow as a leader. They were given information on what it takes to be a good and productive citizen in their community. They learned the importance of their community and how to give back by completing a community project to help others in their community."

The program offers teens an opportunity to rock climb in a state of the art rock climbing gym while interacting with members of their local law enforcement in a positive way. Rock climbing teaches many skills, chief among them communication, teamwork and problem solving skills while simultaneously fostering trust, confidence and cooperation among its participants. Our teen participants feel accomplished after tackling a new challenge and the police officers enjoy meeting our youth and seeing them in a different light."
"On August 27, 2017 more than 700 backpacks full of school supples were distributed by Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders to children at the Charles Houston Recreation Center and Brent Place Apartment Building in the city of Alexandria. One by one, Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders escorted each child to tables to pick out their pre-filled backpack. This large-scale community outreach initiative would not have been possible without the generous grant from Code 3 Association. Community Praise Church is thankful to be the beneficiary of the grant and equally grateful to partner with Code 3 Association who share our vision to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the community. Code 3 Association's partnership helped build positive relationships between Law Enforcement and families in the city of Alexandria and helped to fulfill an important need in the community. Helping children to be prepared for school in September one day provided hope, happiness and put lots of smiles on the faces of children and their families."
